Following inducting Carenne Special School's school capitains today, Bathurst mayor and the man tipped to go up against Gerard Martin for the Nationals at the next state election Paul Toole took to the local airwaves to spruik his support for Carenne Special School.
Mr Toole told listeners of 2BS that he has toured the school and was impressed with the programs the school had implemented for disabled students and how he strongly supports the work of the school.
Mr Toole neglected to mention that some staff were facing criminal charges, that there were allegations of fraud and concerns about inhumane treatment of students.

Support for Carenne isn't a way to shore up political support but it is a liability. Just imagine what is going to happen in the election campaign if any of the Klan are convicted.

What I think is funny you have Mary Housler saying how great Steve Minshull is yet this particular student is far more difficult to handle than the poor boy that Steve had to have restrained. Jenny could handle this lovely boy yet change the driver to Dave Graham and he goes off.....

When a politician brings up the "blame game” they do not want to engage because they know the blame lies with them. Increases in water, power, and Hospitals to name a few are owned by Labor. These important community resources and services were put in place at taxpayers expense. Then some bright spark bean counter convinced government’s theses taxpayer funded services and infrastructure could be run at a profit. Well they can’t if that was the case private enterprise would have been doing that from the start. But Mayor Toole should not get too cocky neither he nor MP Martin have much to crow about Martin has famously claimed if you are not local you have no say. This from the MP for Bathurst who is paid by NSW taxpayers, the Mayor, well we believe while he is paid by ratepayers he has blinkers on when it comes to local issues.
