Experience from Dubbo shows that Carenne review will be a Snowden 'snow job'

Staff and parents of Dubbo College have expressed concern at the management review into Carenne Special School being ran by Peter Snowden. They allege that Snowden led the review team which looked into Dubbo College in 2007, which was nothing more than a snow job and stopped just short of blaming teachers for the department's mess.

A teacher said "It's a joke, you have this review in 2007 that says that there isn't that much wrong and it's a problem with staff needing to adapt, yet the headlines in the paper show different."

A parent said "I was told what the outcome of Snowden's snow job at Dubbo College was in 2007 and nothing which should have been looked at was, he is snow job Snowden."

A senior staff member at the department's regional office said "I can assure you that the review report has already been written, Snowden is one of those people the department sends in to look like they are doing something and to make it all go away. They will say that the problem is that a former employee has significant support in the school and that he and his supporters are destabilising it."

It is entirely up to the parents of special needs children and those who have been bullied in the workplace to turn away from anything organised by the government or DET. The fact that Liberal has now made public noise about going to HEROC after the Chris Smith expose for the Sevenhills West School raised questions about why Adrian Piccoli the shadow Education Minister has not answered written approaches about the Carenne Public School? The fact is both Labor and Liberal were only too happy to deny complaints oxygen. The Western Advocate continues to claim matters are before the court. While it is true there are some matters before the court it is spin over substance. We have a so called separation of powers and the bad politics which has let the shortcomings of some senior staff fester needs to be aired in parliament. Any sham inquiry is as some are saying a planned snow job. Someone asked who have been approached Verity Firth, Gerard Martin, Adrian Piccoli, The office of Premier and Cabinet, the Western Advocate, the Telegraph, the Sydney Morning Herald, ICAC, the State Ombudsman, are just a few who have been approached. I am sure others can name many more. Liberal are clearly disingenuous with their long over due approach to HEROC with a complaint about human rights abuse. When they sit as part of the NSW Parliament their job as opposition has always been to watch and expose the short comings of the government. Over years many of us have been able to understand in many things the so called opposition are in lock step with government to the detriment of taxpayers. We need to increase the political pressure. Do not make a mistake of believing government is going to actually do something until it has been done and we are satisfied with the result. People in management some of whom we have spoken with who have clear oversight of the ongoing problems need to be sacked, as a sign of good faith with parents students and other staff. Then sort out the fact that Carenne has a cancer eating away at its soul. The Office of Premier and Cabinet need to make sure it cant happen again there or anywhere else. Premier Keneally after a hundred days you have ignored this blight on our education system. You are the one who asked us to judge you on your work. Failing marks Premier, perhaps we should be complaining to your puppet masters?

Lucy how about you crawl back under your rock you grub. You have a filthy mouth and that is what gives you away.

Learn to write properly so I don't need a dumbass translater to decipher what it is that you have written.

The purpose of the review is to cover everything up and write a report that shows there is nothing wrong which can be referred to whenever someone says something is wrong.

There needs to be an independent review.

Why have you turned on us Simone?

The review isn't looking at things staff have or haven't dont get that through your thick head you idiots. Read the letter again.

Perhaps it should look at the things staff have done, begining with the child abuse woud be a good start.

This review is a joke and I wonder how much of MY TAX DOLLARS were wasted on the load of dung. How about a parliamentary inquiry into this school? It's about time heads roll.
