The case bought against the state of NSW and former Carenne Special School teacher Anna Blackburn by former student David Withyman recommenced today, entering its fourth day before Judge Elkaim in the Sydney District Court.
The case entered the trial phase with David's mother Ruth giving evidence and undergoing cross-examination. The case will resume tomorrow morning at 10AM when Mrs Withyman will continue being cross-examined.
The case will for 10 days until 2 April.

The people already identified may by now have obtained a better understanding of how much it will cost to defend themselves in civil actions, the cost will be there win or lose. The truth is not always a defence when attempting to explain to a court the public’s right to know. There are other parts of the law which may trip people up, such as injurious language, often used to identify persons to the court who are intent on promulgating malicious gossip, injuring a person’s reputation, and inevitably adversely affecting that person’s capacity to earn a living in their community. I doubt those gossip items which identified one of the employees at Carenne about “behind closed doors” now withdrawn have been reported to police or senior people in DET when first allegedly observed; the post may be identified by the person named as libel. That’s possibly why they have been removed but they won’t be forgotten. It may help if you consider this simple guide in future; don’t post comments here if you are not prepared and willing to own them later in court.

Can you explain why a bus survey is being done and not a therapy survey?
It seems the issues with the buses come from within Carenne Support/Carenne School and are not something parents would be well aware of (apart from faeces in the bus). Most parents I have spoken to are complaining about the therapy service with parents being lied to and threatened if they speak out.
Just as an outside observer it looks like you are trying to cover the therapy issue up.
Libertarian, Carenne Support LTD only give therapy to a select few students also the parents who didn't get ask to do bus survey are the ones who don't get therapy surprising isn't it.
Where is all the money going from these bus runs that carenne support make if all the students are not getting therapy.
