Carenne Special School continues to call the police on students

I have received reports that Carenne Special School are continuing to call the Police on students. Today, Simone Russell called the Police on a student who ran from the school to the park across the road because he would ignored directions from a teacher.

When the Police arrived, the student became more defiant and refused to follow their instructions.

It demonstrates that once again that terrorising special needs students with the Police doesn't work.

What does this Simone Russell do at the school?

Just watching the news this morning about the QLD school where young students are having sex with each other. Other parents have told me this has happened at Carenne, apparently when it happened, they dismissed it saying the student was a slut.

Simone Russell is a School Administration Manager, although not a very good one. She shouldn't have anything to do with any sort of discipline of students.

Her husband is also a crooked cop.

missagordon has no idea what they are talking about. Everything you have said is lies. Simone is a fine SAM and her husband is a fine police officer.

Isn't it amazing that anyone who disagrees with your viewpoint is a liar. Missagordon has provided me with solid, reliable evidence time and time again. They have credibility you do not. The only time you have supplied evidence is to blame someone else instead of yourself.

If Simone is a fine SAM, why did you send me an email with allegations against her? I know it was in response to something on Indymedia but you didn't mind doing her over then did you?

Dear Premier,
I am becoming increasingly concerned about what is happening at Carenne Public School in Bathurst and the perceived protection staff and the school's associated charity are receiving from your government. For the past several months, due to inaction by the NSW Labor government a public inquiry of sorts has played out online through Sydney Indymedia and the Carenne Gate Blog (http://carennegate.blogspot.com). Most of the claims made have been supported by documentary evidence.

Personally, I have made inquiries with Gerard Martin, Labor member for Bathurst and on 17 November was told that he was intrigued as to how people outside Bathurst could comment on what is happening at Carenne.

In short, I am concerned about the following:

1. Cover-ups of child protection matters at the school - I am led to believe that staff were aware of issues relating to a student who alleges to have been in a sexual relationship with a teacher but when they raised these with the principal their claims were dismissed. Not one teacher or aide reported the matters to the child protection unit. There are also allegations of students being physically abused, restrained, locked in a yard and neglected in terms of their therapy.
2. The long-term lease of the lot behind the school at the request of Michael Auld, a Labor Party member. It is alleged that Mr Auld approached Gerard Martin about having the rear lot of the school leased to the Riding for the Disabled Association (of which Mr Auld is now a committee member). Now the school needs to grow and there is no where for it to grow.
3. Part of the $3.7 million trade training funding being allocated to the Riding for the Disabled Association, as stated in the Bathurst newspaper by former principal Duncan.
4. The education minister misleading parliament and the shadow minister about Carenne Support receiving legal representation from the Department of Education and Training.
5. Carenne Support over invoicing the department under the Special Needs Transport Service because the principal of the school was a director of the company.
6. Carenne Support misappropriating two vehicles from the Bathurst community.
7. A culture of bullying, intimidation and blackmail.
8. Leaking of information from Police to staff at the school due to a relationship between a police officer and staff.
9. The leaking of confidential student information by Lee Churches and the department's refusal to act upon this.

I am of the belief that a open inquiry must be held into Carenne Public School, Carenne Support and RDA Bathurst forthwith.

Regards,
Joel Atkins.

Dear Mr Atkins.
Thank you thank you so much, for publishing your letter to the newest NSW Premier. In doing that you make it impossible for our elected reps and main stream media to continue hiding the truth about our community concerns which have extended out into NSW among concerned voters and long suffering taxpayers. More importantly with others hopefully adding to the push for a formal open enquiry by publishing their approaches and formal complaints, made to those responsible over many months, we the people will get something done about cleaning out a rats nest of out of control DET employees. We have since Julie Brown went into print on behalf of the Carenne Saviours in sudneyindymedia back in August, been actually holding an open inquiry into Carenne Special School. Certain responses sourced we believe from the ugly problem which concerns us are permanently preserved on Google Cache and sydneyindy media confirm the public’s concerns about the welfare of special needs children at Carenne Special School are justified. The government’s refusal to engage with concerned citizens only increases the public perception of yet another cover-up.
Thank you again
Edward James 0243419140
