Ros Luther in the firing line

Carenne School's infamous child abuser, liar and trouble-making Assistant Principal Ros Luther is in the firing line with the Serious Misconduct Investigation Team of EPAC taking an interest in her conduct. Carenne Gate can reveal that SMIT investigators are starting an investigation into the assistant principal.


According to senior departmental staff, Neil Moon has requested that Luther be investigated following her leaking of information about a meeting between staff and a bus driver to this blog. As a result of that request, complaints made to Bathurst SEA about Luther recently will also be investigated.

One complaint about Luther was made by a member of staff at the school after she attempted to harass a bus driver by making her look as though she wasn't properly carrying out her job. According to the whistleblower, Luther told the bus driver that a student had gone home early and that he wouldn't be on the bus in the afternoon. When the bus driver drove off, Luther was heard saying "I fooled that bitch, now to tell Neil" to Michael Auld. During this time, the student was locked in the school hall unsupervised until the bus driver returned.

The second complaint concerns allegations of Luther and her aide Jasmine Ryan locking a student in a store room and teasing him when he became upset. The parent spoke to Neil Moon and Ros Luther about the incident but was told that the student was lying and that they wouldn't look into complaints which had come from a student via a parent. Ros Luther is reported to have said that the student is a "known liar" and that he would "say or do anything to get out of trouble".

It is hoped that the investigation will also look at Luther's past conduct which involves locking students in a pig pen, locking students in a store room, encouraging students to look at pornography and leaving students unsupervised.

Auld under investigation

Michael Auld, the Labor party stooge who is no stranger to being in hot water is once again being investigated by the department's EPAC branch according to senior document officials.

The officials claim to have received reports from Auld's former aide Melinda Gavin that he has leaked confidential school information, misappropriated school funds and property, sexually harassed staff and assaulted students.

Gavin gave an interview to EPAC officers at the beginning of term claiming that -

• Auld had accessed confidential information on school computers in 2009 and 2010 and had leaked it,
• Auld planted evidence on staff computers to implicate staff,
• Destroyed documents implicating Lee Churches, Margaret Rowe, Simone Russell and himself,
  
• Diverted funds to RDA,
• Stolen school property,
• Had inappropriate conversations of a sexual nature with make students,
• Gave students pornography,
• Showed pornography in class,
• Inappropriately touched female students,
• Made unwanted sexual advanced towards her, including exposing himself

These allegations come as no surprise given Auld's bizarre behavior. Auld's conduct places students at serious risk of harm. Despite being covered up by the school, Mr Auld had a checkered history with the department, having a number of issues recorded on his file for misconduct.

EPAC, Police fail to take action against "Omerta" despite using DET computer

Both the education department's EPAC, which investigates allegations against staff and the NSW Police have failed to take any sort of action against "Omerta", who has posted personal information on this blog and taken credit for a series of attacks on it last year.

In the past, Omerta's IP address has been provided to authorities who have neglected to take action, preferring instead to try to identify Carenne Gate's sources and posters rather than the KLAN.

The Carenne KLAN has revealed sensitive personal information about a number of people on this blog, all of which has been ignored by authorities. This is in spite of it being obvious that leaks have come from senior levels of Carenne and from within NSW Police.

Both the education department and Police have claimed that they are unable to trace contributions to this blog, despite a number of them being made from inside the department.

Tonight, "Omerta" has published personal information about a Carenne parent on this blog from inside the education department. Carenne Gate's logs reveal that Omerta posted from the IP address 153.107.33.154, registered as belonging to the Department of Education and Training.

Another anonymous poster on the blog alleges that they observed Michael Auld being at Carenne at 7:30PM, around the time of the "Omerta" postings.

Security of questionnaires compromised, Police accused of encouraging leaks

Carenne whistleblower "Karachi" has spoken to Carenne Gate about how the security of police questionnaires distributed last month has been compromised and how Mr Auld was encouraged to leak information to the blog. The whistleblower claims that some staff were told not to place security seals on their envelopes so that their responses could be checked by DET officials, while others were removed and placed in new envelopes with new seals supplied by another police officer.

The police questionnaire has been controversial since it was first distributed, with both the Teacher's Federation and the Public Service Association advising staff not to complete it.

Karachi claims that in addition to new envelopes and seals being used, the system used by the police to trace letters and questionnaires was known to select staff at the school. "Michael Auld told me that he was told by the Police how they could identify each questionnaire," said Karachi.

"When I asked him what the mechanisms were, he told me that when Neil Moon handed out the questionnaires he wrote down who was allocated which number. These numbers were also encoded on the covering letter of the questionnaire. Each letter belonged to a particular envelope. In the letter, a mark was placed underneath the letter corresponding with that envelope's number."

Karachi claims that the letter on this blog corresponded to envelope number 8, as the 't' in 'Bathurst', the 8th letter had been marked.

Karachi says they were seriously concerned that Mr Auld knew the security processes in place and says that Auld claimed to have been told by one of the investigating detectives how the system worked. "Michael told me that one of the detectives asked him to send questionnaires and letters marked in certain ways to the people running this blog so they could set those people up for leaking information and take the heat of Simone and Scott." Karachi claims that he took copies of some people's letters and questionnaires as they saw him in the release office with some of them on the computer screen, while Melinda Gavin was laughing over his shoulder.

This shows that the investigation must be suspended until a taskforce, composed of detectives from outside of Bathurst can be set up because at least one of the detectives running the investigation has no compromised it.

Staff claim DET investigation a fraud

Assistance being provided to Carenne by IT security experts and legal personnel from the Department of Education and Training is only a diversion intended to take the heat off a few key staff and set someone else up according to Carenne whistleblower "hatho". Hatho claims that Neil Moon has asked for evidence to be tampered with to show that the leaks are not coming from within Carenne.

Hatho alleges that Neil Moon was wanting to set an "enemy of the school" up to discredit them and was going to claim that someone had tampered with the school's security system and were using staff computer logins to access the documents.

Hatho told Carenne Gate that she was confident her identity wouldn't be found. "These people are just idiots, Neil is trying to get them to set someone else up so I am safe."

"Michael Auld should be charged": Gretel

New Carenne Special School whistleblower has come forward with stinging allegations that Michael Auld was involved in the bullying and harassment of Nathan Carter following Mr Auld believing that Brian or Nathan Carter had made a complaint about him to the Independent Commission Against Corruption.

Gretel claims that following Mr Auld being interviewed by Gary Bevan by the department's Serious Misconduct Unit on behalf of the ICAC he told her that he knew it was one of the two Carters and that he had been told by Peter Harvey to admit nothing during the interview as it would further harm the school's reputation. Gretel claims that Michael told her that Nathan Carter "had to go" and if she didn't do something about it he would. nedkelly has previously made similar allegations against Michael Auld.

Gretel alleges that prior to the July school holidays that she was sent an email by Michael Auld saying that he would not work alone with Nathan Carter over the school holidays because he didn't want anymore problems from him and that he knew it was Nathan Carter who had made the complaint about him to the ICAC.

Parents claim school review will be biased

The Department of Education and Training is conducting an external review of Carenne Special School and parents claim that the review will be biased.

A letter sent to parents last week claims that an external team led by the Western NSW Schools Development officer will visit the school over the period 15 - 17 March. Parents have been advised that they may be invited to be interviewed by the review team and a random selection will be given survey forms to complete.

Parents have also been told that their children may be involved in interviews with the team.

The purpose of the review is to interview and survey parents and students and to analyse policies, procedures and documentation. The principal will be presented with a report discussing culture, communication and leadership which will be used by the Carenne executive to support forward planning.

One parent told me "They will only select parents who will say what they want for this review, they won't choose those of us who have concerns with the school, they will want to keep them under their hat," the parent said that she was concerned that the letter claimed all information will be confidential and protected by a code of conduct.

"They had a code of conduct when Lee Churches harassed that parent on that Indymedia website and they did nothing about it, it's not adequate protection."

Another parent said "They need to look at culture in the place alright, they need to look at the bullying and snowjobs."
