no and neither would most of my friends. mcdonalds ran a big appeal as part of its happy hands campaign to raise funds for the CARENNE PUBLIC SCHOOL bus campaign not the CARENNE SUPPORT bus campaign and to find out now that the buses are used to make money for CARENNE SUPPORT is a disgrace, charges should be laid and those involved should be jailed they should know better but we know this wont happen in bathurst. how can you people sleep at night by stealing from disabled kids
i wouldnt have supported the bus appeal and fraud charges should be laid against every person involved in 2005.
I am a Carenne Saviour and I would not have supported the bus appeal if I knew that the buses weren't owned by the school or at least the P&C. Even staff were misled about who benefited from the appeal. Those of us who arranged a number of the fundraisers now feel as though we defrauded the community without knowing the truth.
I would like to see charges laid against anyone responsible.

I wouldn't have supported an appeal that was outright fraud. The Police should take action and any proceeds Carenne Support has made should be given to the P&C.

well said carennetruth - it does not matter who owns the buses - the students from carenne have full benefit of the buses for all excursions and also have the benefit of therapy services which would otherwise be unavailable.It also means the rego and insurance costs do not drain school of funds needed to resource the school correctly for the needs of the students

It's not acceptable for you to claim the buses are for one purpose and use them for another. From the discussions both here and on Sydney Indymedia, it appears that the therapy program is selective or they claim therapy is being done when it is not. If the therapy isn't being done where is the money going?
Wasn't there an arrangement for the Spastic Centre in Orange to provide therapy in Bathurst until Carenne Support said it would provide such a service to more than just Carenne students.
Think of this, if the buses were owned by the school as the community was led to believe, wouldn't the school receive the revenues from the bus runs?
It does matter who owns the buses and saying it doesn't doesn't change that fact. Carenne Support is nothing more than a fraud.
The public was defrauded as to who the bus appeal was to benefit. There is a difference between Carenne Public School and Carenne Support. The two are exclusive from each other. They are not the same thing.
How much do your buses earn a year? I think Carenne Support claimed in a recent court judgment against it that it was something like $130k. Imagine what the school could do with that money or even the P&C that Carenne Support is accused of trying to destroy.
The public was not defrauded, it was the Carenne School bus appeal just because Carenne Support, a charity which supports the school ended up with the buses means nothing. The school gets to use them and doesn't pay a thing for the privilege. The buses aren't draining the already limited funding of the school.

hey lee, wasnt the school paying for the diesel, maintenance, registration and insurance on these buses for a long time? simone told me only two days ago that the school was paying for them on the hoist bus until mid-2007 and the fuel was bought on a school card and sometimes reimbursed by carenne support. you are a director of carenne support and an assistant principal of carenne public school and you let the company you are a director of drain school resources.
