Carenne staff development day a farce

Next Monday, when staff and students at every other school in NSW return to school, Carenne Special School staff will be at a resort near Oberon for what Neil Moon has told staff is much needed "R&R" under the guise of team building. The day will cost taxpayers around $8,000.

Carenne applied to the education department to be allowed to change one of its end of year staff development days to the beginning of term 4 so it could work on recommendations in the Snowden Review of 2010 (which has been kept from parents). One of those recommendations was for interpersonal relationships between staff needed to be developed, staff needed to be able to trust each other and a more cohesive culture needed to be fostered.

Unfortunately, it is the cohesive culture that has developed at Carenne that has made it such a toxic environment for staff and students. This culture has allowed the development of a klan mentality where wrong-doing (from incompetence up to child sex abuse) is never reported because it is seen as "snitching on your mates". It is this culture that needs to be broken.

Once again it shows the continuing joke that is the Carenne Special School under the leadership of an incompetent and corrupt principal.

Michael Auld's $16,000 mistake

Following the revelation that Carenne Special School has been illegally dumping rubbish at a rural tip, it has been discovered that $16,000 worth of interactive whiteboards claimed to have been damaged by Michael Auld have also been dumped at the site.

Eight smart boards have been found at the Rockley Waste Transfer Station belonging to Carenne. According to "nedkelly" these whiteboards are valued at $2,000 each.

"Michael Auld deliberately f---ed them and said Nathan Carter set them up incorrectly,"

"He's an egomaniac. He can't handle being told that everything is falling apart because of him," said nedkelly.

nedkelly claimed that she knew the boards were still under warranty but because of Michael Auld's mistake the school couldn't claim on them.

A source inside the education department claimed that Michael Auld had tried to update the board's on-board software so that they had the features of the newer boards, when this failed the boards were ruined.

"Michael Auld tried to update the software on the boards to allow the touch recognition feature, it didn't work. Only a complete idiot would do something this stupid. He first put the wrong software on and then updated more than one. The bloke is a tool,"

"It only costs around $150 to fix what he did but instead these idiots throw out $2,000 equipment. The whiteboard has a controller on the back which has been removed by Auld, he wouldn't want anyone knowing that these whiteboards are fine apart from where he stuffed them up," said the departmental source.

It provides further evidence of the complete incompetence and mismangement going on at Carenne Special School in Bathurst.

Michael Auld lies about holidays, ransacks classroom

Corrupt Carenne Special School teacher Michael Auld claimed that he was at the school most days over the holidays to fix the school's computers. A number of Carenne staff have today ontacted Carenne Gate to report that he lied about why he was at the school.

Carenne staff have alleged that Auld failed to fix most of the computer problems at school. "He was there almost every day but my computers are still not working, what was he doing?" asked one staff member.

Another staff member explained what Auld may have been doing, claiming that documents in her classroom had been rummaged through and some had disappeared. "It was like it had been ransacked" said the teacher.

Staff at the school today alleged that Auld was using the school's phones for RDA. Apparently he was thanking a number of people for their support for the Australia Day duck race.

Gerard Martin knew of the $48,000 wasted on sealing the wrong road

Lithgow councillor Joe McGinnes made claims on the Ray Hadley Show this morning that Gerard Martin was aware of the waste of $48,000 by Lithgow City Council when it sealed a private road instead of the road it was meant to seal.

The issue came about because there are two roads within kilometres of each other with the same name.

Mr McGinnes claimed that the subsequent ICAC investigation couldn't find the second road and closed the investigation.

It is yet another example of Gerard Martin's knowledge of significant wastage and doing nothing about it, just like that happening at the Carenne Special School.
