As part of the external review of Carenne Special School to commence next week, parents have been sent home school self-evaluation surveys. These surveys rate the areas of communication and culture from a parent's perspective.
Some parents have contacted me concerned about how confidential these evaluations will be. One parent said "They don't ask for them to be sent back in an envelope or anything, you are to send them back to school with your child, they will know who wrote what and we know how much some staff like to bully parents, it just won't be confidential."
Another parent said "This entire review process is just a front, if they were serious about sorting out Carenne they would have used a team from outside of the department, the problems at Carenne are far more serious than the department can handle itself, its just an attempt to slap on the window dressing."
These comments and concerns demonstrate the amount of faith parents have in the Department of Education and Training to conduct a fair and proper review into the issues at Carenne Special School.

When the papers are returned it is marked on them who the student was. It's the only way that the review team can know what teacher they are talking about as there are questions based on the teacher.
Part of the confidentiality issues at Carenne come from the office. Simone tells everyone what happens and Lucy did the same when she was helping out there. Lucy was upset when she got no more office work because it was how she stayed in the loop.

The assessment parents are being asked to assist with is all about government being able to claim publicly they have looked into the published allegations and they found nothing of substance. Keep in mind the people who will be assessing the papers which parents fill in are the same people accused of covering up complaints for years.

On 04/09/09 I sent an email to Simone Russell asking some questions about threats that had been made against a staff member and how documentation which I was told had her handwriting on it turned up in someone's FOI request when it looked as though it had nothing to do with them. Within hours, the Police turned up at a whistleblower's house over the FOI document.
"HATHO"Simonne Russell is faking stress leave so Scott Russell will get a Transfer back bathurst station on compassion leave,Hope the police force are told .
Someone should let the workers comp people know what simonne russell is doing im sure they be interested.Thats classed as fraud as well.

There is a group of staff at Carenne that make claims that certain people are gay and say horrid things about them behind their back. It is totally disgraceful but hardly surprising. Simone, Lee and Michael are the worst.

I would say that is why they bought in Lynn, she knows the SAMs job. It was always obvious that Simone didn't have the necessary skills to do the SAMs job but she was put in the job anyway. Terry Mahony had the skills to be able to do her job and his own.
