With the Assisted School Travel Program in disarray due to changes to contracts between the department and contractors and the inability to secure travel support officers, Geoff Salmon and Mary Housler have found new ways to rort the system. Under the old scheme, Carenne Support was paid around $600 per day for its Lithgow run, while under the new scheme it should be paid around $370 per day.
This year, Robyn Graham - the travel support officer who assaulted an indigenous student last year has been forced to resign, with many in the Carenne KLAN claiming that she was dismissed over the allegations against her. This is incorrect. Mrs Graham was forced to resign as part of Salmon and Housler's exploitation of a loophole, allowing them to increase the amount received from the department.
A loophole under the new scheme allows contractors to claim an extra 15% per day if they have to travel more than five kilometres to collect their travel support officer. With Mrs Graham arriving at the school with her husband of a morning and afternoon, Carenne Support would not be entitled to the extra bonus but with Robyn Graham no longer working as travel support officer, Dave Graham now has to collect an escort at an additional cost to the department of $55 per day (or $1,100 per month).
Once again, Carenne Support have shown they can not be trusted and that they will exploit any loophole they can for their own gain.

$600 per day for one run. With a bus that the Bathurst community donated to the SCHOOL, that fuel is partly paid by the SCHOOL, that servicing is part paid by the SCHOOL and staff that are RIPPED OFF!

Robyn Graham is experiencing a hard time because of the lies posted about her on this blog and has needed to take leave.

The investigation into this matter was inconclusive as the only evidence came from the child's father. Dave refused to give evidence because it was his wife so we were unable to take action against Robyn.
That doesn't mean that she is in the clear, it just means we can't prove it.

Are you saying all these people who have nothing to do with Carenne are wrong. Numerous people who have nothing to gane out of saying there is nothing wrong at Carenne.
I have spoken to the Department as soon as the claims of racism concerning Carenne as aboriginal elder and a representive of Wiradjuri land.
I was horrified when I first learnt of the racism and demanded it be investigated. I was consulted as an aboriginal elder to provide advice and the aboriginal community have been kept informed of all investigations concerning aboriginal racism
I have personally met with the Director General and the minister for education over these claims and have seen the results of an extensive investigation which shows the allegations are vexatious.
The aboriginal community has seen the findings and are satisfied with the findings. There is only one person who disgraces from our community and he is mentally ill in my view.
The aboriginal community have met on several times about these allegations and the elders of Wiradjuri land call for an end to false allegations of racism concerning Carenne.
The aboriginal people have been regularly consulted about these false allegations through the orange aboriginal education consultative group which the regional director attends.
The meeting is open to the general public and I encourage you to come along and voice these concerns and you will see the extensive reports that show there is absolutely no racism at Carenne.
If there is any credence come along so the aboriginal community can understand the issues at Carenne from your point of view.
These allegations only serve to promote disharmony and it is highly offensive that the aboriginal racism card is being played out in these false allegations about Carenne.
The Department has a good relationship with the people of Wiradjuri land and they should be commended for there initiatives in aboriginal education
