Verity Firth, the education minister who has neglected to do anything about the plethora of issues at the plagued Carenne Special School in Bathurst and who was caught lying to parliament has been dealt a blow with her husband Matthew Chesher being charged by Pyrmont Police for drug possession.
It is alleged that Chesher was found with one ecstasy tablet in his possession.
At the time of the offence, Mr Chesher was employed as Chief-of-Staff to Roads Minister David Borger. He has since resigned.

How can Verity be trusted to run one of the most important portfolios in the state government when she couldn't even see the drug abuse going on in her own house?

Where exactly do you take it to? I'm sure people would do something if someone actually listened. The problem is that nobody wants to touch Carenne Special School.
The police haven't acted yet. It's terrible to be told that they are going to do something and nothing happens. The fine staff at Carenne need to be rid of this so they can focus 100% on the students. If I believed any of it I wouldnt send my my son to Carenne.
My association with Carenne is a long one. I only had problems with one teacher and had my son put in another class.
